What's New in FutureLot: Smarter Site Plans, CAD Export, and More

FutureLot's latest update introduces enhanced Site Plans, CAD export feature, new sketching tools, expanded utility coverage, and better project organization.

What's New in FutureLot: Smarter Site Plans, CAD Export, and More

We're constantly expanding FutureLot with new features and improvements inspired by the way our customers use the platform every day. This latest update introduces requested capabilities like CAD export while adding new tools that make Site Plans more detailed, project planning more efficient, and your workflow even smoother.

What's New

New CAD Export for Faster Design Workflows

One of our most requested features is now available!

You can now export your FutureLot Site Plan and import it directly into your preferred CAD software, allowing you to continue designing without recreating property boundaries, site features, and other project information from scratch.

Add More Detail With Site Logistics & Accessibility Planning

Site Plans now include an optional Site Logistics & Accessibility section to help document important construction considerations such as:

  • Trenching
  • Tree trimming
  • Potential crane setup locations
  • Distances to nearby utilities

You can also replace the default Site Plan disclaimer with your own organization's customized language.

More Detailed Sketches With New Tools

We've expanded FutureLot's sketching capabilities with new drawing tools, including:

  • Arc lines
  • Rectangles
  • Ellipses
  • Hundreds of new sketch patterns

Sketch elements can now be marked as either impervious or non-impervious, and FutureLot automatically includes them in the property's impervious surface calculations.

Smart pattern recognition also helps speed up the process. For example, concrete and asphalt patterns are automatically classified as impervious, while still allowing you to override the classification whenever needed.

More Utility Data for Better Site Understanding

FutureLot now includes:

  • Sewer line layers across more than 5,300 municipalities
  • Water line layers across more than 2,400 municipalities

Our coverage continues to grow, giving users more visibility into existing public utilities during the early planning process.

New Wind & Snow Information

Wind and snow load information can now be added directly from the Special Considerations layers and automatically included in your Pre-Feasibility Reports, making it easier to capture important design considerations in a single report.

Access Your Past Reports Anytime

All previously generated Site Plan and Pre-Feasibility Reports are now saved within FutureLot.

You can quickly search past work, reopen previous projects, and share reports with teammates or homeowners without recreating them. It's a simple way to build an organized library of completed projects for your team.

Track Website Booster Activity Directly in FutureLot

If a property originated from your Website Booster, you'll now see that connection directly while working on the address, along with the homeowner's latest activity. This gives builders additional context without needing to navigate to a separate Insights page.

Keep Projects Moving!

Every update is designed to remove a little more friction from the planning process. From the first property analysis to detailed Site Plans, FutureLot helps you spend less time piecing information together and more time moving projects forward. These updates are all about making planning faster, smoother, and more comprehensive. We can't wait to see what you build with them!
